ERIC JAMES REINBOLD FOUND GUILTY OF SECOND-DEGREE MURDER

Pennington County Attorney Seamus P. Duffy today announced that Eric James Reinbold, 46, has unanimously been found guilty by a Pennington County jury of twelve (12) persons of one count of Murder in the Second Degree – Intentional Murder and one count of Murder in the Second Degree While Committing Second Degree Assault. These convictions stem from the early morning hours of July 9, 2021 when Reinbold left his camper located on his rural property outside of Oklee, Minnesota and proceeded to his residence where he stabbed his wife, Lissette Reinbold, twenty-seven (27) times when she was leaving for work that morning.

In a secondary phase of the trial, the Pennington County jury heard arguments from the State of Minnesota and Defense regarding the presence of aggravating factors. The jury found that yes, Eric Reinbold stabbed Lisette Reinbold multiple times and left her and one of her children found her. The finding of aggravating factors will be utilized by the State of Minnesota as recommendations to the Court to sentence Reinbold to the maximum sentence allowed under the laws of the State of Minnesota. Reinbold’s sentencing hearing is set for a date and time to be determined by the Court.
