On March 25, 2020 Governor Tim Walz issued an executive order for Minnesotans to Shelter in place or stay home. This executive order goes into effect at midnight on Friday, March 27, 2020 for a period of two weeks.
As of today, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office has decided to restrict lobby visitation. You can still visit through alternative methods such a computer or smart device from your home.

Due to the continued health concerns raised by the COVID-19 virus the Pennington County Law Enforcement Center will be taking necessary precautions.
The Pennington County Law Enforcement Center will continue to be staffed 24 hours a day. Normal law enforcement services and operations will continue to be provided. Citizens are still to call 911 for an emergency. All non-emergency calls can still be directed to 218-681-6161. The lobby of the law enforcement center will remain accessible for those who need a safe place to report an incident.
All Pennington County buildings and facilities are closed to the public effective at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 20 until 8 a.m. Monday, March 30, or until further notice. The Justice Center will remain open for scheduled super high and high priority court hearings during that time. However, individuals entering the Justice Center for such purposes will need to provide the name of the case or the case number.
