The Sheriff’s Office includes 5 full-time Deputies, 2 part time Deputies, 1 Investigators, Chief Deputy and the Sheriff. The Deputies perform various duties that include, patrol, transports, courtroom security, warrant service, and civil process service. On the Jail there is 10 full-time and 4 part-time Corrections Officers, 2 Sergeants,1 PREA/Jail Transition Coordinator, Program Coordinator, and the Jail Administrator. The Office also staffs 4 clerical/records employees and a Dispatch Center with 4 full-time, and 1 part-time 911 Emergency Dispatchers, and a full-time Dispatch Supervisor/TAC Officer.
The Pennington County Sheriff's Dispatch Center is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Pennington County. It's responsible for dispatching all incoming 911 calls as well as non-emergency calls for all Emergency Services for all cities and the townships within the county.
Pennington County Dispatch Center provides radio-dispatching services for the Sheriff's Office as well as the Thief River Falls Police Department, Thief River Falls Ambulance, and the county's 3 fire departments. We also assist and communicate with Minnesota State Patrol. Our center is staffed twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
